The ESUT School of Professional and Legal Education (ESPLE) offer
programmes leading to the award of Professional Certificates and Diploma.
The school also coordinate the University’s foundation JUPEB programme.
The School enjoys important relationships with professional institutions,
leading firms in private industry and consultancies and non-governmental
organizations.
We seek to create an interactive and innovative learning environment and
will expect our trainees to make major contributions to that process.
The flagships Diploma programme, is in, Legal Studies with two sessions
Diploma of Law programme. The students apart from obtaining a Diploma in
Law Certificate upon successful completion of the programme, enjoys a built-in
course of study leading to the award of the membership of the Institute of the
Chartered Arbitrators of Nigeria (MCiarb). This is made possible by our
partnership with the Nigeria Institute of Chartered Arbitrators. The
Institute collaborates with the School in mounting programmes leading to the
conferment of membership of the Institute to top management in private and
public sectors also.
The School publish highly rated academic works: Multidisplinary Essays,
Law Reports and The Journal of Contemporary legal Education. Students on
successful completion of the Diploma programme are encouraged to apply and be
admitted through the JAMB Direct entry window to pursue a four-year programme in
Law, leading to the award of the LLB degree of the University.
The School also offer the Professional Diploma in Banking and Finance,
Accountancy, Business Administration and Marketing.
The School has an expansive purpose built accommodation, inside Enugu
metropolis, that is accessible by rail, road and air.
The Faculty:

Agu, Gab Agu, HND, LLB, BL MILD, LLM, Ph.D.
Professor of International Law and Jurisprudence is the Director of
Studies. He has many years of public and private enterprise experience
and was the pioneer President of Enugu State Environmental Protection Tribunal.
He was Head of Department of International Law and Jurisprudence and Dean,
Faculty of Law, ESUT. He is well published and the 20th ESUT
inaugural Lecturer: “Ana Acho Ogu Nma: Should War have its own Law”.

Edeh, Nwabueze Kingsley,
LLB, BL, LLM, M. Phil.
Barr. Ede is the Associate Director of Studies. He was
Associate Dean, Faculty of Law, ESUT and at present a Senior Lecturer and the
Head of Department of International Law and Jurisprudence. He is awaiting
his Ph.D thesis defence at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile, Ife. He
teaches Constitutional Law.
3. Ugwu, J. N. LLB,
BL,LLM.
He is a senior
Lecturer and an Ag. Head of Dept. Business Law, Faculty of Law, ESUT. He teaches
Law of Torts and Legal System in the Faculty. He teaches Legal Methods in the
ESPLE.
4. Nwakuche, Maudline Chinyere
(Mrs.), BA, LLB, BL, LLM.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Archaeology Education, LLB
and LLM from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She is of the Department of
International Law and Jurisprudence, Faculty of Law, ESUT. She is
currently researching on her Ph.D dissertation in Industrial Law.
She is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Law. She teaches Law of Contract and
Industrial Law.
5. Arum, Obumneme Mathew,
BA, PGD, M.Sc, LLB, BL.
Barr Arum is a Lawyer and Psychologist. He is a Lecturer in the
General Studies Division of ESUT. He teaches Psychology, and Logic and
Clear thought.
6. Nwankwo, Caroline
Nkechinyere, B.Sc, MBA, MSc, Ph.D, ACA.
She is an Associate member, Institute of Cost and Management Accountants
(4152) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) (034159).
She is a Lecturer I in the Department of Accountancy, ESUT and teaches Financial
Management.
7. Aniede, Ifeanyichukwu,
Pascal, LLB, BL, LLM, MCiarb.
A product of the Nigeria Law School and graduate of Kingston University,
London. Aniede is a Lecturer in the Department of Private Law, Faculty of
Law, ESUT and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.
He teaches Administrative Law.
8. Maduagwu, E. Nneka (Mrs.)
B.Sc, MBA, M.Sc, MSc, Ph.D.
Mrs. Maduagwu has MSc degrees in Public Relations and Management as well
as Ph.D in Management. Her area of special interest is Human Resource
Management. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Business
Administration, ESUT.
9. Ugwuanyi, Dele Maxwell,
BA, MA.
A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Ibadan. He is a
Lecturer in the General Studies Division, ESUT. He has an extensive
research interest in English Language and Literature. He teaches Use of
English.
10. Eze, Jude O, BSc, MBA, MSc.
He is a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing, ESUT.
11. Ogbodo, Izuchukwu, H.Dip, MBA, MSc.
He is a Lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance, ESUT. He
has varied experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Prior to joining the academia in 2007, he worked in the banking, construction
and telecoms sectors. He teaches Financial Management.
